QUINTA DO TORNEIRO: 300 YEARS OF HISTORY
Quinta do Torneiro was built in the 18th century and belonged to the Portuguese Court. It was then donated by Queen Maria I to the Bishop. It was built in the middle of nature, with three beautiful gardens and walls decorated with Portuguese tiles of excellent quality.
When donated to the Bishop, Quinta do Torneiro got an exclusive and classic chapel, decorated with Portuguese tiles depicting biblical passages. The Quinta do Torneiro’s chapel is charming and can serve either for your wedding ceremony or for beautiful photographs of your big day!
The antique halls are decorated with Portuguese tiles that tell the story of that time: caravels sailing, the daily lives of the inhabitants of the Quinta, landscapes of the time and much more. Quinta do Torneiro still has a Noble Room, with exclusive green tiles that combine with the ceiling of the same color.
